While the operator is busy handling the current traffic, additional incoming calls can be deferred to special "line hold music" channels.

This feature was introduced at the [[Events:GPN16|Gulasch Programmier Nacht 2016]]. It was implemented by using an old MP3 player and the additional hardware described [[Tech:Audiosignal_Input|here]]. By separating the left and right audio channels in hardware combined with a specifically crafted audio file, can provide two independent music channels from a single player.

For the [[Events:33C3|33C3]] the same functionality was integrated the "special services box". There, the MP3 player is replaced by a RaspberryPi (1st gen, model B) and a USB sound card, using the same audio files than the previous GPN set up.

Just like last year, we attended again at the 33C3 and provided the service of the Choasvermittlung (Chaos Field Phone Exchange). This year we've just brought a little bit more stuff to the congress:
* 2 30-connection exchange
* 2 Telephone (4-connections) exchange
* 2 10-connection exchange for the Seidenstraße-Project
* All in all 20 field telephones (13 borowed and 7 own ones)
* 450 meter backbone (multicore-line with 3-4 twin-wires) and 800 meter field wire
